cold sore

is it possible not to get infected with cold sore virus if i take antiviral medicine after exposure? how long does it take to have symptoms or outbreaks after exposure?

That's possible, but we don't have any studies backing this up.  Have you ever been tested to see if you already have it?  Most do, but only about 20-40% of those infected will ever have a cold sore.

Well, you should test and find out if you have it.  Ask your doc for a type specific IgG herpes blood test.  That's the only way you'll know for sure.
