concerned about herpes from oral sex

I am a 22yr male that made a terrible decison and got really blacked out drunk and recieved unprotected oral sex from a complete stranger. I also touched her vagina but no actual intercourse. About 7 days later I noticed a dark red spot on my penis upper part of the shaft pretty much right on a vein. This spot has been there for about 3 days now and i am concerned about herpes. The spot has remained unchaged from what I can tell. The spot is painless and flat. I had a blood test done maybe a year ago and was hsv2 neg and equivocal for hsv1. I really can't get my mind off this and I feel like the spot is going to turn into a blister. My questions are does this sound like herpes. Can herpes just cause one spot or am i just over reacting. Do you think I should get retested. If it isn't herpes what could be causing this. I think what has me most worried is that its in the right time zone and I can't think of what else would cause this. I am really confused on what to do so all your help is very appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the Forum.  Your risk from the exposure you describe for any STD, including herpes, is very, very low.  The lesions you describe in no way sounds like HSV.  After 3 days the lesions would have been expected to have evolved to develop small blisters.  I don’t doubt that you have just noticed this spot but, sometimes after an exposure that, in retrospect, one wishes they had not had, persons tend to examine themselves and be far more attuned to genital sensations than in periods when they are not concerned.  This in turns leads to noticing what turn out to be normal sensations that might have been not noticed or ignored at other times.   This may be contributing to your problem.

As to what it might be, I cannot say.  there are many, many normal findings and many non-STD dermatological problems that can cause penile skin lesions.  My advice would be to go to your local STD clinic and have them take a look at it.  Alternatively, you could ask your own doctor although, to be honest, in most places the people who owrk in the STD Clinic have seen more penile rashes than most other health care providers.  At that time you could also get yourself tested for other STDs, again, mostly for reassurance.

Hope this helps.  EWH
