concerned about potential outbreak

yesterday i discovered what looked like a bug bite on my penis. there was just one and it itched as any bug bite normally would. i wasn't sure how it got there but i shrugged it off and thought nothing of it. my last sexual encounter was roughly a month ago and there was unprotected contact. today, it still itched (not very often) but i also noticed another bug bite right next to my urethra. it doesn't itch like the other one does. i have checked numerous pictures online and none of the pictures of herpes i noticed look like what i have. this is the second day I've noticed them and i am starting to freak out. being that it's friday, i don't think i'll be able to get any peace of mind until monday. will someone please help me? they aren't crusty and there are only two. they are about the size of a mosquito bite but maybe slightly smaller and red.

the girl i had sex with has not made any mention to me about any potential std contraction. (not that that means anything)

as of right now, they don't necessarily itch like the did 3 hours ago and last night. it's sporadic.

i'm not sure what else to type. i hope i get a response soon.
thanks

Two separate lesions occuring a few weeks apart on separate areas of the penis suggests something other than herpes, which usually occurs in clusters; and recurrences usually involve nearly the same spot each time.  And herpes lesions typically don't itch as the main initial symptom.  So my guess is that it isn't herpes.  (Whether your have bug bites or not, I cannot say; that also sounds unlikely.)  But this is only guesswork, and it could still be atypical herpes.  If so, you likely have been infected for a long time--i.e., not necessarily caught at one of your recent sexual encounters.

You're going to need to see a provider for proper diagnosis.  Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

well i also noticed a third "bite" on my scrotum as well. none of the bites are together and they don't have a head to them or are they water-filled. i still plan on getting tested on monday. but is there any way you can ease my mind a little bit? they aren't in clusters and i don't have any other symptoms such as painful urination, discharge or anything. are my odds pretty good?

also, the "bites" didn't happen 2 weeks apart. they all happened around the same time. i just think i noticed them over the span of 2 days. the fact that one is right on my urethra is what is bothering me. thanks again!

Herpes uncommonly involves the scrotum.  This sounds even less like herpes.  But still no guarantees unless/until you are professionally evaluated.
