could I have sex and not contract

by toomuchtang, Apr 24, 2009 02:48PM
I have been having sex with multiple partners (4) sometimes unprotected, sometimes protected. One girl caled me and said her Ex contacted her stating that he contracted and gonorrhea from her. She says she has no symptoms and I have no sypmtoms. We continued having unprotected sex, as we thought he was bluffing. She just got her results and she was positive. Is it possible that I dont have it, Is it possible that while she was on meds i re-infected her? Please advise. None of my other partners have symptoms.

Let me get this straight.  You blew off a report that your partner had gonorrhea and continued to have sex with her.  How smart was that?  Now you're surprised to find she really has it?  Duh.

Gonorrhea is not transmitted 100% of the time; no STD is.  That you don't have symptoms (pus dripping from your penis) means you probably were not infected.  However, it is possible to have gonorrhea with no symptoms.  Yes, it is possible you transmitted the infetion back to her.

Both you and your partner need to use a little common sense and do the folowing: Stop having sex.  Both go to a provider for examination and testing.  You need treatment, which should not wait until your test result is available -- the doc should give you an antibiotic on the spot.  Whether or not your partner needs re-treatment depends on which antibiotic she has been taking and the doctor's advice.  Also, everybody potentially involved in this train of infection need treatment for gonorrhea.
