Gonorrhea and Syphilis is what i was diagnosed with. i was treated with a shot and i was given 2 pills to cure the infection. My question is how long will it take for the infection to leave my body, and what are the long term effects of the infection on my body. please give my the greatest advice. thanks..

Most STD are out of the system with the medication within a week. How long were you advised not to have sex for? Sometimes you might want to follow up with your Dr for further testing to be positive that the medications have cleared you.

Long term effects depends on sex(M/F) and how long you had them. If not long-weeks then no long term effects. If years then I would suggest you follow up with your Dr for further testing.

For the gonorrhea, you can have sex after 7 days has passed.

Syphilis is probably the same, or at least until your sore clears up, if you had one.

Its REALLY important that you go back in 3 months and get another syphilis test to make sure you responded to the treatment.
