cyst infectious?

by concernedmale22, Dec 18, 2007 09:17AM
was recently diagnosed with two sebaceous cysts behind my ear which was causing it to get infected several times this year, resulting in very painful swelling. the cysts have since been surgically removed. during the time i had the cysts, a week after one of my ears got infected (i continued to have sex) my girlfriend started getting a red bump on her behind, which started to swell and get extremely painful to the point that she ended up in hospital to be put under i.v antibiotics which subsequently cleared it up.

however it has since returned. is it just a coincidence she got this infection around the same time as me or is it possible that she has caught it from me and that the infection from these cysts is contagious?

thanks for your help in advance.

Cysts are not typically infectious.  It's most likely a coincidence.
