i DECIDED THE ONLY PEACE i WILL HAVE IS IN A LAB TEST CONFIRMING YOUR SURETY REGARDING MY EXPOSURE RISK AND THE TREATMENT I HAD.  I HAVE A QUESTION HOPEFULLY YOU WILL ANSWER.  I MENTIONED BURNING NO DISCHARGE AND CALLED MY UROLOGIST AS I AM OUT OF TOWN.  HE SUGGESTED UNTIL I GET BACK THAT I TAKE AZO WHICH DRAMTICALLY CHANGED THE COLOR OF MY URINE.  IT SEEMS CLOSE TO BACK TO NORMAL THE PACKAGE SAYS COULD AFFECT URINALYSIS.  I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY SAID THEY DID NOT THINK AFFECT STDS TESTING BUT WERE NOT SURE.  CAN YOU CONFIRM?  ALSO I AM GOING TO GO HOME AND LIKELY WILL BE HAVING SEX I AM TAKING YOUR ADVICE THAT STD IS IMPOSSIBLE HAD THIS TESTING FOR PEACE OF MIND I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND.  THE CLINIC DOES NOT TEST FOR HSV UNLESS THERE IS A LESION WHICH THERE IS NOT SO BASED ON YOU SAYING HSV2 NOT SPREAD THROUGH ORAL I WILL ASSUME I DO NOT HAVE THAT.  THE CLINIC TOOK BLOOD FOR SYPHILLIS, AND URINE FOR CHL, AND GON,  WHEN THESE RESULTS COME BACK NEGATIVE I WILL SAY I AM IN PERFECT SEXUAL HEALTH. THEY DO NOT TEST FOR NGU IF I DO NOT HAVE CHLAMYDIA DOES THAT MEAN I DO NOT HAVE NGU OR ONLY THAT I DO NOT HAVE NGU DUE TO CHLAMYDIA.  PLEASE HELP CLARIFY I AM A LITTLE CONFUSED ON NGU.  ANY OTHER WORDS OF CONFIDENCE YOU CAN OFFER WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND PATIENCE IN THIS MATTER, I AM SO SORRY FOR BOTHERING YOU. ONE MORE THING WHY DO PEOPLE ON THE NON EXPERT FORUM INSIST THAT HSV 2 CAN BE SPREAD ORALLY WHEN YOU AND HHH ON SEVERAL POSTS SAY IT IS NOT AND IS WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE IN TREATING PEOPLE..... EVER HAPPEN?  THANKS.

You told me that with the treatment I received there are no worries for my girlfriend or our unborn child however I have this burning no discharge and I am very worried please tell me if the treatment the shot of cetrafiaxone and doxycycline were cures for the STDs we discussed after one treatment I am really concerned and I don;t know enough about the drugs to know whether one treatment is definitely enough after five days after exposure please advise, additionally whether an STD if I had one would ever resolve itself after showing symptoms like burning pain in the penis without meds if this were an std it would only get worse.........correct? I am feeling better since the weekend not perfect but better I can tell whatever it was is getting better.  Please advise.

Thanks Dr.  I had been to the urologist a week and half ago and left a specimen did not tell him to examine it for STDS but when I had this burning I called there and they said my specimen was free from white blood cells.  Do you suppose this was a garden variety UTI?  Will the AZO affect the STD tests I did today?  I have been feeling better as far as the burning goes if this was in fact an STD without treatment I would not feel better in all likelihood worse correct?  I still have no discharge just mild burning at the moment.  Please advise. Would the ceft shot and doxycyclene definitely clear any potentials up is there ever a situation where more therapy is needed.  Thanks again for your patience.

Azo should not change your test results.

As for NGU, this is a syndrome which is diagnosed by the presence of elevated levels of white blood cells in the urethra of the penis.  They can be detected with a swab test or with a urinalysis.  NGU is caused by chlamydia and a number of other bacteria.  

As for what is said by others on some of the non-expert forums, you can find lots of misinformation.  Trying to overcome myths such that you can get HSV-2 through receipt of oral sex is part of what we do on this site.

sorry for the caps but one more thing........If I had these symptoms and they were in fact any of the diseases we discussed prior would they ever resolve themselves in a week with no additional meds.  I have taken nothing except one dose of AZO for it.  Thanks for your patience and understanding.
