dry red blotches

by aj2731, Aug 23, 2009 03:53AM
I noticed a year or so ago about a dry skin problem  on my penis.  The skin gets dry and flakey at times.  At the same time, I have reddish blotches on the glands.  It does not itch or cause any pain or discomfort, just a minor skin decoloration.  I have seen the dr in the past, but he told me its nothing to worry about. Is there something that I can use to alleviate the dry skin/blotches?  I dont think think it is STD related,  because the dr was confident it wasnt and the symptoms did not the bill.  I did have cold sores when i was a child, but havent had once since then.  Any advice?

Also, sometimes i get what appears to be rug burn on my shaft from masterbation (masturbation)/sexual activity, but heals in a few days.  i have been with the same partner for almost 10 years so I am not thinking its STD related, plus the dr said the symptoms dont match.  could it be because of sensitive skin or some type of fungal infection?

All we can really so is confirm that it is not STD related. Skin discoloration could be due to a fungal infection, allergic reaction, or other causes. If you are still concerned despite seeing your doctor, then perhaps you should see a dermatologist.

Thanks for the advice, but stds have already been ruled out.  neg on all.  I have read other posts on here with men having the same issues and its looking more and more that a dermatologist is the best way to go. thanks again.
