finger std

About a year and a half ago I had a slight sexual encounter with a girl.  a couple of weeks before this happened I had had a space open up between my fingernail and the skin of my finger at the cuticle.  I touched the girls vagina but did not actually insert my fingers.  I'm not sure if the area between my skin and fingernail came in touch with her fluids but a little while later (not sure how long) the area of the fingernail at the cuticle hardened and raised a little bit.  the area wasn't discolored at all.  it actually looked like a callus and at the time i thought it was a callus that had hardened around the area until it healed.  but now i just wanted to make sure that it wasn't an std or something. i think the callus looking thing was there for a long time -- at least a month maybe much longer.  in the year and a half since the encounter i haven't had a single other symptom of an std

My goodness.   I hope my answer will put your mind to rest after needless worrying about the event you describe for more than a year.  There is virtually no risk for STD from the expsoure you describe and no reason for concnern.  The changes you describe in your cuticle are in no way related to the earlier exposure.  It is well past time for you to more on from these concerns.  EWH

just wanted to add that the more that i think about it I'm pretty sure that the open spot at my cuticle didn't have direct contact with her vagina but I'm not 100 percent sure.  I don't know if I'm worrying over nothing or not.

Doctor,  before this thread is over I just wanted to ask what it was about the callused spot at the cuticle of my finger that made it not sound like something like syphilis.

No, this sounds nothing like syphilis either.  It sounds like the normal evolution of an irritated cuticle.  EWH

one last thing i forgot to mention. after touching the girls vagina i went to the bathroom and accidently touched my penis.  about a year after this encounter i was taking a bath and engaged in very rough masturbation.  my penis was sore even after i finished.  the following day in the shower my penis hurt where the water hit it at the base.  there may have been an open sore that maybe (maybe not?) looked like a split blister.  it had completely healed by the next day.  is there any chance this was herpes.  i've never engaged in any sexual activity other than mutual masturbation

i didn't notice anything like a sore before the rough masturbation and to my knowledge have never had any other herpes symptoms

sorry i wasn't sure if i was supposed to start a new thread to ask that question since it had been two weeks since i first posted, but an answer would really help ease my mind

You need to relax.  As I said above, you are not at risk. If you had a sore it is likely due to the trauma of masturbation ,not an STD.  This will end this thread.  Please do not start another thread, as I said, your exposure was no risk.  EWH
