girlfriend "HAD" hpv

by daytonabeach, Oct 25, 2009 05:46PM
i am getting mixed answers from the internet ie. some websites are tellin me HPV last forever. so i might as well ask this question directly.

when my gf was 15 years old she had HPV. she did the acid washes and had the operation and removed any warts. since this happened by law she has to do a pap smear every 6 months. shes 20 now and her pap smear been normal ever since. she has no warts or anything. her doctor told her that if there isnt any visible signs then she cant pass on anything.

to sum up. around 4 to 5 years later, pap smear comes back normal. is there a chance for me to get infected with this virus?

thank you.

Probably not. Most of the time HPV will clear from the body in about 12-18 months.
