herpes after protected sex

I had protected sex with female. After 6 days I got a pimple type lesion above penis base, this obviously was not covered by condom. I assumed it was herpes because it itched a little and appeared after a few days. My question is what are may chances i could have also gotten hiv in this same incident? Could this herpes appearance be a recurrence since i had gotten herpes 7 years before.

It is possible you had a very mild outbreak. Herpes never leaves your body. Please post any other questions concerning herpes in the Herpes Community.
