I WANDER FOR A POSSIBILITY COULD THEY BE HVP?, SO I CAN GO TO THE DOC.

WILL I LIVE WITH IT ALL MY LIFE CAUZ IM ONLY 17?

WILL I BE ABLE TO HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX WITH MY FUTURE HUSBAND WITHOUT HIM CATCHING ANYTHING?

CAN I EXPOSE MY FAMILY?

Hi there -

Discharge with a fishy odor is usually bacterial vaginitis, a natural infection that occurs just like yeast.  Its not sexually transmitted.  You would need an antibiotic to cure it though.

HPV isn't usually blackish bumps, but you should get that checked too.  You won't have that forever - most people clear it within several months.

oh ok.

the bump that looks like a bush couldnt it be a possible HPV infection?

by auntiejessi, Apr 07, 2008 12:31AM
It could be, but HPV isn't usually black.

You should get it checked.

my appointment thursday. i got a closer look with a flashlight. they are pale looking.

Does HPV cause a fish smell or vagintis or both?

by auntiejessi, Apr 08, 2008 02:48PM
Vaginitis would cause the fish smell.  HPV doesn't cause any odor at all.

i have read about bacterial vaginosis also known as vaginitis is one of the causes for hpv and so is trichomoniasis. they have the same effects as hpv.

they have vaginal itching, discharges, foul smells, and discoloration.

i have a wart and i read vagintis causes planter warts, but this looks like a bush or a wart with a lot of bumps.

hpv does causes order but it comes in 1/3 of women.

this is why they go through many tests to determine what you have.

my question is does vaginitis causes warts that looks like hpv

by Dallasfan, Apr 08, 2008 04:49PM

Some of the infromation you are reading may be confusing. Vaginosis simply means inflammation of the vaginal tissue. Bacterial vaginosis is caused by a Bacteria by the name of Gardnerella . Trichomonas is a cause of vaginosis. HPV is a  Virus that causes genital and cervical warts. HPV is not the same virus that affects the feet ( also called plantar warts. Your symptoms need further testing . HPV does not cause itching, or discharge.  Please go to your local Doctor or your county Health Department for futher care.

by auntiejessi, Apr 08, 2008 05:58PM
Actually, HPV causes all of the warts you get on your body.  There are dozens of strains of HPV - some affect your feet, some affect your hands, others affect your genitals.  The strain that causes plantars warts will not cause genital warts, or vice versa.

The causes of bacterial vaginosis will NOT cause genital warts, and genital warts will not cause bv.

They are totally different things.

so i must got hpv then

by auntiejessi, Apr 09, 2008 12:19AM
No, it sounds as if you have bacterial vaginosis, but you need to let the doctor make the determination.

i know i was douching alot around the time.... i really didnt know when to use it. LOL: but now i know. could it be a possibility of a bacterial and hpv, and if so can they tell if its both?

my appointment is now 2morrow, so im just tryna give them things to check. our docs at the health dep. are a little obvious.

i also know i woked up with the smell a cup hours after intercouse and i seen a bump that didnt look right i seem to ignore it, but it just stayed there. it didnt het bigger or smaller but there are 2 visible small bumps.

people i ask said they could beel a bump inside them, had a discharge, and was having a strong smell due to hpv and only 1 had abdominable pain.

so maybe every1 is different

by auntiejessi, Apr 09, 2008 06:02PM
You could have both hpv and bv.

Never ever ******.  It disrupts the oh-so-delicate balance of good and bad stuff in your vagina, and that causes bv.

Good luck at the doc's tomorrow.

i went to the doctor and they said i have hpv and shes says it not curable. so is this true?

she says it will still spread to other people if i have sex. even with treatment. is this true?

whats the best medication is the best kind to use for treatment?

i went to a family clinic is they the best to go too?

im now setting an appointment for an ob-gyn. will they help?

IS HPV CURABLE? I NEED TO KNOW

by auntiejessi, Apr 10, 2008 07:53PM
Oh *sigh*

Your doc only gave you half the picture here.  No, hpv is not "curable."  It does, however, clear from your body, and when it does that, you are no longer infectious.  This can take several months, but most people will clear it within 2 years.

Right now, you are certainly infectious, but you won't always be.  When you have gone maybe 6-8 months or longer without any signs or symptoms, you are probably clear, but you can say for sure you are if you go 2 years.  You should check in with the HPV forum here, and also check www.ashastd.org for some great info on HPV.

HPV doesn't cause the odor, though.  Did she test you for bv?

by ramblinrosegurl, Apr 10, 2008 08:26PM
yes she did and she says i have no bv or anything.

so u saying that if after 2yrs i am not showing signs it means my hpv is clear and most likely i dont have it anymore....

what kind of medicine should i get or treatment cauz my doc gave me 3 refills which i couldnt get cauz she didnt authorized my medicare cauz the medicine is high.

what treatment makes it clears the body?

if i get around people can i infect them. if i touch can i infect? if they use the the same towel can they get infected?

how long after having hpv can signs show of cancer

by auntiejessi, Apr 11, 2008 09:27AM
Your doc can do a freezing treatment, which is just using some stuff to make the warts fall off.  That's the cheapest way to do it.  If money is an issue, call your local Planned Parenthood or std clinic. Many places do that for free or for just a few dollars.

Since you have visible warts, you do not have a strain that causes cancer.

Have you ever had a pap smear?  If you haven't, you should sometime soon.

Did the doc give you aldara?  That is a very expensive medication, and I'm sorry your insurance isn't covering it better.  :(

You really should go to www.ashastd.org for some really good info on HPV.

Oh and you won't transmit this to anyone who isn't coming into direct contact with your genitals.

You can still hug, kiss, etc.

AJ

by ramblinrosegurl, Apr 11, 2008 09:44AM
so they can use towels after me to wash themselves?

i got a pap smear yesterday....she told me she didnt see anything in my private area. is the test i get back in a week determining if my cells are normal or not.

are there any vaccines or shot i can take to slow it down?

i also wanted to know if its only top of my genital region. is it a most likely chance that i got it from my ex who went down but used a condom. so if this was the matter. is it most likely i have on my skin and not in my body........

i also called a clinic today they said i needed approvement from my doc to go if this is the case and getting the wart chopped is cheap. why do i need approvement for my insurance.

by ramblinrosegurl, Apr 11, 2008 03:46PM
i called my doc she sending my approval monday around 8am and appointment at 10:15am. im a get the wart froze off. also because im waiting on arkids im a have to pay for the medicine right now.

i heard the same medicine that cures the hiv virus is the same medicine that may cure hpv. is that true?

by auntiejessi, Apr 11, 2008 05:21PM
No that's not true.

Where are you reading this stuff?  Go to the site I recommended.

If she removes or freezes the warts, you shouldn't need the medicine, which is VERY expensive.  You can always wait and see how the freezing does before getting the meds filled too.

No, you wouldn't have gotten it from someone going down on you.  Its direct genital to genital contact.

Yes, they can use your towel, but sharing towels isn't a good idea in general.  Lots of fungal things can be transmitted this way.

Oh and nothing cures HIV.

AJ

by ramblinrosegurl, Apr 12, 2008 12:20AM
NOT BLOWN AIDS BUT THE VIRUS. but i dont think freezing it off is better cauz there might be others growing in the region. so i would like to use the med also.

if i take vitamins that help my immune system, and drink orange juice and drink milk, and use antibacterial soap, and my meds would this help 4 my genital warts

by auntiejessi, Apr 12, 2008 12:47PM
You don't use the medication over the entire area.  You would just use it on actual warts.  It can cause big irritation if you use it over the entire area on healthy skin.  Trust me when I say you don't want to do that.

And nothing cures HIV or AIDS.

Don't use antibacterial soap genitally - it will kill off the good bacteria you have there which you need to keep it all in check and healthy.

Eating healthy is always a good idea.

so the warts  i have already are the ones to worry about?

is there anyway to see through a scope to see exsisting ones that are ot seen

by auntiejessi, Apr 13, 2008 06:10PM
No, you can't see them before they develop.

You should check out www.ashastd.org for some more info on HPV.

i was checkin ashastd and everything they say is different from yall say. it says u can still spread even with treatment and that it want come wat yall said not true. it says it will come back. so im just lost

by auntiejessi, Apr 14, 2008 05:15PM
I didn't say they wouldn't come back.  I said that within 2 years your body should clear it.  In that 2 years, yes they can come back.  Getting treatment reduces those chances though.

AJ

by auntiejessi, Apr 14, 2008 05:16PM
Oh and you should start posting in the HPV forum.  They can offer you more specific advice.

i dont know how to do this stuff... what do u mean when u say clear it/?

by BlueGirl13, Apr 15, 2008 01:24PM
To: ramblinrosegurl
What AJ means by "clear it" is that with some strains of HPV, your body can fight it off and cleanse your system of it. However, there are over 100 strains of HPV to date. So where you system may clear of one strain, you can still become infected by another strain of HPV.

I know you are lost but also you should listen to the information AJ is providing. She does a bang up job in this area and she is the Community Leader in this forum as well.

About 80% of all people are usually infected with some strain of HPV throughout their lives. Its not a death sentence and I agree on the HPV forum.

by ramblinrosegurl, May 15, 2008 07:05PM
so is the warts ones the best that can be cleared

by auntiejessi, May 15, 2008 07:59PM
Any strain of HPV can be cleared.
