hpv confirmed

hi. i'm a 29 year old male.I was just told 2 days ago by a dermatologist that i have condyloma acuminata. My last sexual encounter was last spring..early summer. Penetration lasted 10 seconds. My prior sexual encounter prior to that was 2 summers ago..with my ex girlfreind. I remeber that she had brown spots on her arms that would itch and sometimes scab. She said it was negative. i recently started getting tested for std's ( clamydia, hepatitis b,ghonerhea, syphillis, hiv ( in december ) EVERYTHING NEGATIVE.
the dermatologist took one look at the " warts " on my shaft and burned them and put a brown solution on them ( 6 to 8 of them )
1- i have discomfort in my right tonsil..on and off. i use to smoke and drink. i read hpv can cause oral cancer. seeing i had a gastroscopy..would it have picked up oral cancer.i have had "big" tonsils for years
2-how long does it take for the warts to go away. its still brown.from the liquid..and now they are sensitive.
3-i think i have had anal warts as well in the past. felt like little nodules around the inside of anus. they would go away by itself. would the colonoscopy have picked up any chances af anl cancer.
4-the tip of my penis is red.its like a circle..around the hole of my penis.( uncircumsized)its always there.my scrotum is itching as well. is this part of hpv
5-can hpv be the cause of all the symptoms months prior.like i said ..my last encounter was early summer. is it safe to say i don't have other std's. my hiv test was done late december.
6-i only noticed the warts ( which looked like tiny seethrough bubbles) months ago. can this be now showing itself from my ex from 2 years ago?
7-does one person have to have hpv..to pass it onto someone else. Can you get hpv from anal sex when no party is infected?
8-can hpv cause testicular aching and frequent urination?
9-can i get hpv from fingering a woman
9--is hpv a serious disease. i'm scared..and can't believe i have an std. this is real stressfull and disturbing.

You are inpatient and overly concerned.  We take the questions as they come in.  Sometimes we missed questions which have threads already created by the original poster repeatedly adding to his/her threads.  While you were waiting for this post I hope you searched this site related to HPV.  On it you will find all of the questions you ask have been answered more than once in the past.

You have HPV.  welcome to the club. Whether they know it or nor, virtually all sexually active people get HPV.  Some of them get warts, others do not but have infections that can progress rarely to cause abnormal pap smears in women or genital track cancer - these each represent a miniscule fraction of all HPV infections.  In nearly all cases the persons body fights off the infection themselves in 6-9 months.  This process can be hastened by treatment such as you received.  Now, on to your questions.

1.  HPV infections are painless so your sore tonsil is not HPV. In addition, HPV does not infect the tonsil. If you had oral HPV your dentist would likely have seen it.
2.  The brown liquid is podophyllin.  It works slowly and often requires repeat administration in a week or so.  the tenderness means it is working by causing inflammation of the warts.
3.  If you have anal cancer the doctor would have seen it as he started your colonoscopy.
4.  No.  HPV infections are painless.  Nor does what you describe sound like HPV.
5.No
6. Possibly
7.  HPV is only passed through direct contact, including anal sex.  If someone does not have HPV, you cannot get it from them.
8.  No
9.  Yes, rarely.  it would be visible.
10.  NO!. It is sexually transmitted but, as I mentioned, nearly everyone who is sexually active has it or has had it in the past.

i spoke to the two last women i slept with. One was last april..the other was a year and a half ago. They both said they've gotten pap smears..and everything is normal. Prior to that..my last woman was almost 5 years ago. It was a risky girl. If the hpv has been lingering all this time..( the years you speak about ) could it be that the cancer has been growing ever since. My head of my penis for a long time has had a purpleish red colour to it. I don't understand why this disgusting reaction happened shortly after the therapy. its never happened before. I'm urinating so frequently ..its insane. most of time its dribbling. Pee is very yellow. . . A couple of months ago, i did notice 3 little pink dots around my urethra..which went away the next day.
1- could i have warts in my urethra..how to know? ( could this be causing dribbling)
2- i masterbated many times while warts were present..could i have spread them to more of my penis (head, urethra) or other parts of my body.
3-doc if my symptoms are not consistent with penile cancer, what are the signs.
4- if the two last girls i've been with don't have warts, does that exclude them as possible women who gave it to me. they say they have no warts.
5-doc is there any way you can explain why my penis had this terrible reaction, which after over a week, has still not cleared up.
Doc..thankyou for your replys...they help..they really do.

Your misplaced anxiety continues to hurt you.  Believe your dermatologist.  It takes YEARS for penile cancer to develop and when it does, it progresses very slowly, over a period of months.  EWH

hi doc. Since i was treated for genital warts on my shaft a couple of weeks ago, my penis has not been looking too good. As i said, a couple of days after the procedure, my penis head started turning red, and a HUGE amount of smegma started building up. Also when i pulled my skin back, its as if my skin appears thick, red and swollen and wrinkled. I saw a doc and he suggested circumcision!!!!???? as a possibility. I lubricated the foreskin with cetaphil. The smegma calmed down , but my foerskin..when pulled back...still seems wrinkled and swollen. itchy as well. Doc i'm scared about penis cancer. i know its quite rare, but my penis does not look too good doc..and its got me wondering.i know hpv is associated with penile cancer. the dermatologist said  the " reaction " following cyrotherapy had nothing to do with the procedure. so why did it happen???? its been 2 weeks..and my penis still does not look normal. Doc do you have any idea what this could be. The foreskin redness, wrinkled, iching. The head of penis seems a tad red and blueish. Can this be penile cancer..due to hpv. thanks doc.

Stop a minute and read your posts from the beginning.  Your concerns come one after another and when you get one answer you search for another opr switch conenrs (HPV, throat problems HIV, etc) .  You are going from doctor to doctor getting different answers from different specialists with different fields of interest.  Doctor shopping is not good for you or your helath.  Chose a health care provider who you feel good about and stick with the,  Playing one off another, possibly not giving any of them all the relevant information is not in your interest.  EWH

doc i just got back from seeing a specalist at infectious diseases at the hospital in which i work. he said its NOT prostattitis. he felt my prostate and did a prostatic massage. he then looked under his microscope and said there is no white blood cells or any infection, and my prostate feels fine. He thinks the doc at the private clinic is just trying to fullfilll his quota of prescriptions. i'm so....confused.
hiv tests that give results in about 48 hours..are they acurate? i did a test in december at a private clinic that cost about 50$. came back negative. last exposure was about 8 months ago.

We try not to interfer with other health care provider's care on this site.  That said, the correct exam for prostatitis is with the rectal exam.  i wolud believe the person who did the examination.

The place that scabbed off shold heal without scarring.

I agree that HPV is not the end of the world.  Remember, most so called "cancerous" strains ressolve by themself in less than nine months.  EWH

he did the test to check for white blood cells in my urethra. he put it under the micorscope..said it was clean. he said its hpv..and its not the end of the world. I'm just worried it can be the cancerous strain of hpv. the brown (pondofolin) spots are scabbing, and a couple scabs peeled off. Will the the reddness from scabs peeling leave permanent scar tissue?

i saw another urolologist today. he felt my prostate. he said i have prostatitis.
Doc..can you explain just one thing. 2 other urologists said its not prostattits..but they never even checked my prostate. This one did..and he now put me on meds (cipro, and nsaids) It's hard to believe.
i appreciate your reply's doc. 16$ every time is alot for a person with my financial restrictions.

My guess is the doctor is planning to start from the beginning.  It is normal to repeat tests in situations such as this.  They will be negative but your doctor is doing the right thing to start again.

Work with the infectious disease specialist on the HPV, this is not HPV and I am sure he will tell you much of what I've already said.  EWH

Hi doc. I went to see a doc at infectious diseases. He told me to come to see him again today and not urinate for atleaast 2 hours prior to seeing him. He said he's not doing a urine test. I guess he's doing a swab test. Any idea why? i've been tested for clamyd, gon, hiv, syph and hep b. All negative and my last sexual encounter was last winter. And,it was 20 seconds unprotected.i spoke to her a couple of days ago.She said she gets tested regularly( pap included ) and everything is fine. My ex..from two years ago, often had brown spots on her skin. They would itch, she would scratch, and they would scab. She recently had a misscarrage( a month in ) with her new partner. She said something about some kind of infection causing the misscarriage. Can she have a serious strain of hpv,and would i get the same one? Since treating the warts, i have been having itching at tip of penis. Almost like its under my skin, and when i pull my skin back,i see a whiteish flaky type film along with a fishy odour. Doc i'm confused. Can hpv cause all this. I had alot of frequent urination yesterday.

i've seen quite a few doctors in the last couple of months, and none of them can tell me why my testicles where in pain in the begining, and why the hematuria. I still do have pain..with no explanation, but yet, they say its all in my head, because they can't explain it. Imagine how that makes one feel. I realized we have a long ways to go as far as medicne is concerned. I feel for anyone going through a similar situation. Its insulting, if anything. I find blaming things on anxiety, is like giving a diagnosis of ibs to someone suffering from gastrointestnal issues, its the easy road!
i appreciate your time, and concern. Your'ee a good man.

Answers to your questions, then this thread is over:

1.  Genital track cancers in men take years to develop and when they appear, they appear as painless lesions on the skin.  the HPV that is associated with cancer does not cause warts.
2.  Warts would be on the hand.  Don';t worry about her voice
3.  Its not cancer
4.  Genital HPV can cause cancer - rarely and after years
5.  Possibly
6.  No way

Your questions suggest to me that your anxiety has gotten the best of you and is far more likely to be harming you than your HPV infection.  I urge you to consider getting professional mental health support to work through the concerns you have expressed which are misplaced and totally out of proportion to any risk that you might have.  I say this out of concern.  EWH

thanks for your reply doc. The reason i'm so stressed about all this is because i've been on an emotional roller coaster since october. i've had testicular aching, microscopic hematuria( urine is clean ever since taking cipro ) abdominal aching, pain in sternum, constant muscular pain ( buttocks area especially ) insomnia, frequent urination and now i officially was told i have condyloma acuminata. I don't understand how condyloma could possibly be related to all these other symptoms. I finally know i have something, but its probably not whats causing all my other issuues. I've had so many tests.( testicular, pelvic, abdominal ultrasounds, chest xrays,colonoscopys..ect..) This has all happened so quickly. Sad part is i'm barely sexually active...and i contracted an std. If you don't mind doc...just a couple more questions..please. thanks..no more questions...I PROMISE!
1- you spoke of genital tract cancer. are these symptoms of that?
2-if i can get it fingering a woman..would the warts be on my hand. this woman also had a very " scracthy voice...all the time. ( oral hpv )
3-i haven't seen a dentist in a long time. The people at ENT said my throat looked a bit "damaged"  tonsils looked big..they think its from acid reflux. They don't think...its cancer.
4-i read hpv can be an additonal cause of oral cancer. Would there be warts in my mouth, or throat if its oral hpv. Can genital hpv carry on to become oral hpv
5-can the treatment i recieved for burning the warts cause this very dry itchy skin on scrotum. The tip of my penis feels a bit itchy. I have also noticed when i pull my skin back..a flaky white film of some kind. any idea??
6-Can hpv be associated with autoimmune disease's such as lupus and fibrmyalgia. I read that autoimmune disease's are thought to be triggered by some form of a virus( could this expl;ain all my muscle pain)
