hsv2 and molluscum contagiosum ??

I was diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum about a month ago, and I had symptoms for about 4 months until the dr. told me what it was, they were burned off, and the few that were still aroud after that visit i took care of personally with tea tree oil and iodine, i have not had symptoms for about 2 weeks.  Until about 3 days ago i noticed a small red looking bloch on the under part of my penis shaft.  Thinking it was another molluscum contagiosum bump, i got the rubbing alchol, tea tree oil and iodine mixture out, and proceeded to squeeze out the hard white core, like i had done before, which helped clear up my molluscum contagiosum.  I noticed nothing came out and there was no bleeding like before with the molluscum contagiosum.  So the next day after work, i noticed the area skin i squeezed was raised up and looked and felt like a bug bite, red and itchy.  Id like to think its just from me squeezing the area trying to get the molluscum contagiosum bump out, but I am freaked out because its not acting like molluscum contagiosum and i think it maybe herpes, could this be does it sound like herpes?  there isnt any burning, just a little it like a bug bite.  thanks for anything---and i will get a blood test for hsv2 this week soon.

It really doesn't sound like Herpes, but as Webcrawler says it's best to get checked if you have reason to believe you were in a potentialy risky situation of late, blood test would be best as I don't think Molluscum is diagnosed through a culture of the bump .... always best to err on the side of caution.Herpes lesions are generally blistery and itchy and can also be quite painful,in the meantime it would be wise not to have unprotected sex until you get a proper diagnosis.

if you have a lesion, the best thing to do is get it cultured immediately. If the culture comes back negative take a blood test. However, a blood test may not reveal recently acquired herpes infections.

if both come back negative, you have to decide whether or not you have reason to believe that you have herpes. Have you had an HSV2 positive partner? Have you received oral sex from someone that developed a cold sore? Are you high risk, i.e. lots of partners? Are your partners high risk? Do you use protection?

If you decide that you have a real reason to believe that you may have herpes, then you should wait 3-4 months past your last possible exposure and retake the bloodtest AND get any new lesions that may occur cultured immediately.

If you decide that you do not have a reason to believe that you have herpes, then stop worrying about it.
