i have piercings on penis. Am i at higher risk of std

i have 2 new piercings on my penis, running down the top of the shaft. And i'm parranoid about std's espacialy herpes.  did i make it more likely for me to get some std by having these 2 piercings? i did it myself maybe not smart but whatever. When i pierced the skin the barbell went in and i kind of fished arround for the exit hole. It was very easy, so easy that i'm wondering if that part between the holes under the skin can even heal. I may be wrong but it seems that if something were to get in to that hole then it could just go where ever it wanted under the skin and would be totaly impossible to clean. Could an std get in ther or will this heal up and be just like any other spot. Like normal penis skin. Or what should i do take them out? or am i more likely to get an std?
