is it possible? what to do next?

hello,
the last sexual contact i had was 5 months ago, when i received oral sex from a woman.  then, 8 days ago, i had a night drinking where i was walking back to my apartment at 3am (blocked out) and then woke up at 10am having vomited over my bed and in the bathroom clearly i had had diarrhea.  I was so dehydrated. (the chance i had any sexual contact is miniscule, considering how i hung up my clothes neatly in my apartment, etc, but i guess there is a SLIGHT chance i had some sort of sexual contact with someone i dont remember and who left without me noticing.....probably not....) 3 days after that night i started having this 'warm' feeling in my penis and testicles, and a little bit of pain near the tip.  i had a urine test for the common bacteria (gonorrhea and others, but not chlamydia or mycropl) and it was negative.  while i was waiting for my urine result i drank lots of cranberry juice, also some water mixed with apple vinegar, and the symptoms were manageable.  it also is uncomfortable sitting for any extended period of time.

i got my urine results yesterday (negative) and the doctor gave me cipro and said "if the symptoms havent gone away, try this and if they still havent gone away after this then we wait 7-10 days and then test for chlamydia/mycro".  i took 2 cypro pills yesterday (500mg each) and about 2-3 hours after the 2nd pill my anxiety and amnesia went sky high.  if anything, the 'warmness' and little bit of sharpness near the tip is worse.  im thinking of stopping the cipro.

considering what i have read on this website, perhaps i have chlamydia (5 months without symptoms and finally symptoms???) and maybe Urethritis .  does this sound possible (even 5 months later), and what should my next steps be??

Welcome to the forum.

First, I agree it is exceedingly unlikely you had sex while drunk, with no memory of it.  And  it is not likely that any STD would start causing symptoms 5 months later (and oral sex is low risk anyway).  Finally, no STD causes the vague sort of symptom you describe, i.e. the warm feeling.  Discomfort of the penile tip could be due to STD, but that's unlikely in the absence of abnormal discharge of pus or mucus from the penis.  And the gonorrhea and chlamydia tests are highly accurate, so that provides additional evidence against STD.

The fact that your symptoms have continued despite the antibiotics is strong evidence that no infection is responsible for your urinary symptoms.  If the symptom continues, of course return to a provider.  But the best bet is a psychological origin; i.e. my bet is that your anxiety about all this is causing you to perceive normal body sensations as more dramatic than usual.  If you just sit tight and try to forget about it, most likely it will clear up.

Bottom line:  You clearly have no STD, and I doubt you have any infection or anything else that could harm you or a future sex partner.  But continue to work with your health care provider if you are not convinced and your symptom continue.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

To: one last thing
one last thing: if I do go down the road of "maybe something happened during those 7 hours i cant place", if i consider that the night was saturday and the symptoms started to emerge tuesday afternoon (not fully 3 days after possible contact), also factoring in the negative UTI test, what STDs are eliminated from the realm of possibility?  no discharge also...

I saw these comments before I replied above, and took them into account.  They do not change my opinion or advice.  If indeed you have fever, most likely it is due to a separate problem from the other symptoms you describe.
