jock itch after sex with csw from dominican republic

5 days ago I had protected oral and protected vaginal sex with a csw. The condom didnt break to the best of my knowledge but slipped forward a bit when i pulled out once but she brought a new condom immediately. whole thing lasted 15-20 min. Yesterday i noticed the skin on both thighs/testicle region are white/red and seem dry. I also feel a burning sensation on both sides and by scrotum. they look like jock itch. is it possible that the csw gave me jock itch or is this herpes? What are my chances of getting herpes, HIV or any other std from this encounter? This was my first sexual experience. I am very anxious so i am feeling a lot of things on my genitals at the moment. I was tested for chlamydia and gonnorhea 3 days after the incident and results were negative for both. Please help. Thanks.

Thanks for your response Grace. I wouldn't think about getting tested but its just my anxiety and ocd would be better after the test. Right now I'm paying super close attention to any itch or sensation I have in my genitals so after testing negative I'll be able to move on from this situation.

I recommend finding a behavioral therapist to help you. They've really helped others I know, including my own son. Find one you click with and its well worth it!!

I wouldn't even bother testing for herpes from a one time protected encounter.

Thanks for your response Grace. I've had anxiety issues for a majority of my life but have never gone to a specialist for help. I definitely will go now since I've never felt this much stress and anxiety before and also the guilt from this incident has definitely amplified everything for me. The nurse practitioner at the planned parenthood clinic told me I'll have to be tested at 12-16 weeks to know for sure whether I have anything but at this point she cannot see any visible lesions/sores. Hopefully those results come back negative and I can put this situation behind me. Again the asymptomatic herpes is the only thing causing anxiety for me now since a large majority of people have that. Would the test at 12-16 weeks be conclusive?

If I got a dollar every time posters here checked their genital area a day, I wouldn't have to take out student loans to finish my schooling...lol

You are your own worse enemy in all of this. You are obsessing about an encounter that was very safe. You need to stop looking at your genital area!! Only look at it when you have to aim to urinate. Any time you find yourself wanting to look down yonder, get up and go take a walk ( just don't melt in this summer heat!!!) or do something to take your mind off of it. Do you have a behavior therapist you've seen in the past you can check in with?

anxiety is far more of an issue than your risk was. Move forward and stop worrying so much since you had a protected, very low risk encounter.

Hi Grace, thanks for your input. Its been 12 days since this encounter and I havent noticed any lesion or sore on my genital area. I have also been to a doctor about 4 times in these past 12 days and they havent seen anything either. I am having a bunch of the herpes symptoms but i feel like they might be in my head. I am also having night sweats probably from my anxiety. how many days would a lesion take to appear? I'm having ocd from this event and checking my genitals 30-40 times a day and finding things i never noticed before. The other thing causing me anxiety is how some people are asymptomatic to herpes. Can you give your input on this? thanks in advance.

jock itch is an overgrowth of yeast/fungus on the skin. it's quite common in males and isn't a std.

go and be seen so you know for sure what is going on. Jock itch is easily treated with otc creams once you confirm your diagnosis.

we recommend protected sexual contact for a reason - it works!! The sex worker you visited having both protected oral sex and vaginal sex with you shows that she too cares about her health. No reason to think you got a std from this encounter and you wasted your money testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia - both are completely prevented with protected sexual contact.

Hi Life360 thanks for your response. Does this jock itch have anything to do with the sex? like could it be transmitted? Is the chalmydia and gonno test good or should i get another one in a couple weeks? Also i have a hairy pubic area which barely made contact with her since most of the intercourse took place while i was behind her. I've heard hair can sometimes prevent transmission of herpes. I am also worried because I've heard jock itch occurs when the immune system is weak. Does this mean I might have HIV/AIDS? Please help. Thanks

Hi, with protected sex your risk is zero IF no part of your genital area made skin contact. With the protected vaginal if your pubic mound area made rubbing contact outside the condom, you had a low risk for herpes and syphilis but with no sores at the time, that risk would be close to zero.
