jock itch or not

After being with a new person that I did not know well (mistake), I developed burning itching with a very minor discoloration in the groin area. Specifically, between where the scrotum and the pubic area meet, all the way around the base of the penis - but primarily where the top of the scrotum and public area meet. There is no crust or scaling, just burning and itching.

Is it jock itch or something else?

It could be, but only a doctor can tell you for sure.  See your doctor or go to an std clinic.
