keflex for syphilis??

i tested positive for syphilis. i was given 21 days of doxycycline twice a day because im allergic to penecillin. after the 21 days i still had a sore on my penis. also felt very feverish and had a stomach ache. went back to the doctor about 3 weeks after i had finished the doxycycline and he prescribed keflex four a day for 10 days. is that going to work for syphilis? i've read some stuff online that says its not very effective but maybe its ok since i have already done a round of doxycycline?

From what I could tell from looking through the expert forum (below), keflex is effective against syphilis.
