nervous wreck

I've had red bump in the hair covered part of my pubic area for several months now. Some of them have had puss like normal pimples and I've popped them but they keep returning. Sometimes they're painful to touch but at other times they're not. I've been worrying myself sick thinking that this could be herpes. i have never had sex though so this worries me even more. Could someone please tell me what these bumps are and how they got there?

I hesitate to recommend anything like neosporin because while it might work for some, others can react to it when they use it genitally.

You might call a pharmacist and ask what they recommend for folliculitis.

If you've never had sex - even oral sex - this can't be herpes.  It sounds like its something called folliculitis, which is infected hair follicles.  Using a warm washcloth to hold to the area (do it just like you would hold an ice pack there) a few times a day should clear it up, but you have to stop picking at it.

If it worsens, or lingers, have your doc check it out.
