couple of days ago i got an unprotected oral from a provider in massage parlor. Though the chances of getting hiv is very low, do you think i should get tested for other std's? I have no symptoms whatsoever but scared. how long should i wait to get tested?
HIV is no risk.
Gonorrhea, NGU, herpes and syphilis are possible. The risk is low, but possible. Probably no need to test unless you get symptoms or you want to ease your mind.
Gonorrhea and NGU- 2-7 days for most people. Syphilis about 21 days, herpes...not certain but within a couple of weeks.
But a STD like gonorrhea doesn't have to show symptoms...normally does but doesn't have to. But the risk being low it is not recommended to test (by the Dr's) unless you get symptoms or to ease your mind.
But if you never have been tested before this is a good time to.
I got tested on 15th day for everything and it all came negative except HSV1. I have had cold sores couple of times while growing up so i might have had this since then. now i wonder can i perform oral on my gf without the fearFears and phobias of gential hsv1 for her? (she says she has never had cold sores before) and kiss our children without the fearFears and phobias of passing it to them? Thanks for all your help.
