i had protected sex over the weekend but didnt have acondom on as she gave me oral  the next morning the tip of my penis hurt bad i went to the doctor the next day  he feels it was a reaction to the lubrication on the condom but did give me doxycycline 100mg to take i had no burning when i peed or discharge i have been taking the pills how long would it take if i did catch gonarea or clymidia to not be contagious anymore he didnt think it was an std

Your doctor probably was right about irritation from condom lubricant.  No STD starts causing symptoms within 24 hours of exposure.  Had I been your doctor, I would not have prescribed the doxycycline--but now that you have started it, you should finish the prescription.  You are not contagious for a sex partner.

Good luck--   HHH, MD
