I recently heard from an AIDS hotline that when HIV is outside the body in the open air it dies out within seconds. Is this true?
As I thought about it, it is possible that she was menstruating at the time you were in contact with her. That said, I understand your concerns. No need for post-exposure prophylaxis however, nor testing. EWH
thanks, I did try to post this question on the HIV prevention forum, but it said that it reached its limit of post there. So I did the next big thing and posted here. I think waht happened is that she bled a little than when she took of the condom a little blood from the outside of the condom got in her hand. Then she gave me a handjob and as a result the little blood she had on her hand ended up in the lower part of my penis. Just to clear things up I don't have any cuts whatsoever in my penis. I was considering post-exposure prophylaxis but I guess it might not be necessary. You never can be to careful.
this question probably belongs on the HIV Prevention forum rather than this one. That said, let's work through it. Your risk of HIV is low because:
1. You were protected by a condom during vaginal sex
2. Masturbation (hand jobs) are not associated with risk for HIV acquisition.
3. But what about the blood? If the blood came from your partner, there is no indication that she had HIV (most prostitutes do not), there is no indication that the blood that was on the surface of the base of your penis entered your body through a cut, abrasion or other unnatural defect in your skin.
I would not worry and would not get tested because of this exposure. EWH
