2 totally different things.
thanks for the help....one last thing...
can herpes cause yeast infections or are they 2 totally different things that have no relevance to one another?
thanks again
I agree - either irritation or maybe even yeast. You need to see your doctor to be sure, but it sounds yeasty to me.
Aj
It sounds more like it could be irritation then anything else.
hey guys quick question...For the past 3 weeks or so I have had some pretty painful redness in my butt crack area. it is pretty much the full length of the crack. It often gets real itchy, sometimes has a burning sensation and a lot of times feels like it is cut or the skin has been ripped off. Its definitely red in color but doesnt necessarily feel like its inflamed. Could this be a sign of herpes or another std? I wasnt sure what kind of effect an std such as herpes has on the skin but i have also gotten real itchy, irritated skin all over my body during work outs as well. But at this point i am most concerned with the butt issue. Any help would be great ....thank you
not an std-symptoms too soon.
I was thinking about something that happened to me about a year ago and i thought i would get an opinion. After having sex with my girlfriend, about an hour later i felt a real stinging felling in my urethra while trying to pee. The stinging sensation lasted for about 36 hours or so. It only hurt when i peed but it was so painful that it was almost unbearable. I was going to get it checked out however the pain went away rather quickly so i figure i just caused damage to the urethra or something from the sex. It doesnt sound like an STD to me because it came about so fast and left so soon. does it sound like i just did some damage to my urethra or something?
Thank you for your help
If you can afford it, its about 75% accurate right now.
Aj
would it be stupid to get a herpes specific igg test done just 45 days since my last hook up in which im most concerned about or do i need to wait the 4 months. I dont want to spend the money if its only 25% accurate at that point however i need to ease my mind and if i could take it i just want to get it over with. Thanks
This isn't herpes. Herpes infects nerve groups, and genital herpes infects the sacral ganglia. This is waist down, so you wouldn't have muscle aches and pains in your arms from herpes.
Aj
Today I started experiencing some intense aches in my left arm. It feels like it starts in my shoulder and extends all the way down to my hand and fingers. Its pretty painful i suppose and i cant pin point whats causing it. possibly a nerve but I know muscle aches are a sign of herpes which also effects the nervous system.
Considering i have had some pretty unusual muscle aches in my leg, arm and back throughout the past month since my last encounter I'm a little concerned it could be herpes induced. How long do muscle aches due to herpes last and are they usually in then entire leg/arm? Thanks ahead of time for the help.
No, they aren't typical of any stds.

i think so, at least i hope i really didnt notice the lines on the head of my penis or was so concerned about the bumps i forgot to mention it. I guess ill have to go back, but do you know if the lines i tried to describe signify anything?
You need a blood test for syphilis.
Did your doctor see all these symptoms?
I agree they could be wrats but now im freaking out again. I might as well ask this too. I have 2 sicolored lines (brownish gray in color) on the head of my penis which appears to start near the opening running down to the ring. They are on opposit sides, dont hurt, and are not raised. They arent extremly dark but definitley noticeable. Is this an indication of anything? and will a urethra swab and urine test be enough to test for syphillis? Thanks again for your responses
Yes, they could be warts. Did the doctor think they could be?
You should get these checked again. We can speculate for the next month and we still won't be able to come up with anything conclusive. No one can diagnose you without you being seen by a doctor.
Aj
i forgot to mention too, there are no visible hairs in the middle, they cant be popped, no rash/red area underneath an no white center. they arent clustered but are pretty much in the same area. Plus, wouldnt 3 weeks of having them indicate something worse such as warts and not folliculitis?
yes i have...i thought maybe it could be that but i just havent seen anything that really looks like it. They are mostly on the scrotum and base of the penis but there are one or two on the shaft where i didnt think hair grew which is why i ruled that out. they are all pretty tiny and hard to see if you dont know where they are, but clearly noticeable under a light and they havent grown for 3 weeks. I wasnt sure if warts typically got bigger over time and how long they last. Sorry i know its hard for you to know what it is without seeing it for youself. Hopefully its normal and all the back and leg aches are in my head. I guess the problem is, most pictures on the internet are all extreme cases so its difficult to determine what it is.
Have you goggled folliculitis?
Aj
He just said that doesnt look like an STD or herpes but didnt say what they could be. I'm really confused about them because to be honest they dont look like ingrown hairs to me and i havent seen them before. When i did try and pop a few the "pimple" came off and bled but a few days later there was another shiny raised spot in the same area. Its only on the right side of base and scrotum. Thanks for the quick responses
No, warts don't bust or scab or go away within 3 weeks.
If the doc didn't think it was herpes, what did he think it was?
Aj
thanks again guys for all the help. Hopefully this is my last question for now
I have these tiny bumps that are real shiny and the color of my skin. I went to the doctor who said they dont look anything like herpes. They have been at the base of my penis and spread out on the right side of my scrotum for about 3 weeks now. I think they may be ingrown hairs or from shaving but ive never seen something like it before. They cannot be popped and there appears to be no fluid inside.
Do genital warts typically go away/bust/scab over within a 3 week period or is possible for them to be out for a long period of time?
None of this sounds like herpes to me, but if you need to test, call your local Planned Parenthood and see how much they charge for herpes testing.
You might have to go to your doctor.
Aj
ok sounds great i really appreciate the help. I guess once i get the money ill think about get it checked out but hopefully what you have said will cut the stress down a bit which in turn will eliminate some of "symptoms" i think i have. Thanks again
