i had protected sex with a sex worker 3 weeks ago after week 1 although the condom slipped slightly the head was always covered i had severe nausea then a sore throat that looked like strep after  week 2  then pheripheral neuropathy without diabetes sugar is 97 which still continues now  having problems sleeping from the pn i noticed when i got on the scale i lost 6 pounds this week without dieting my appetite is good but none of my clothes are loose im really scared and awaiting the 6 week testing time to take my test can this be early signs of hiv. i have had no lymph node swelling or fever or rash after 4 weeks of exposure thanks in advance for your reply

You have posted on the wrong site.   Questions about HIV belong on the HIV prevention site.  I will do my best to answer your questions with this reply but, if you have additional questions or follow-up they must be on the HIV Prevention site.  Sorry

Your risk of HIV from the exposure you describe is low.  If the condom did not slip off entirely you were probably protected and there is virtually zero risk from condom protected vaginal sex, even if your partner did have HIV.   In addition, it is unlikely that your partner had HIV (most CSWs do not) and even if she did, your risk of infection from a single exposure is less than 1 in 1000.  

Your symptoms are not suggestive of HIV but do suggest anxiety and, perhaps a community acquired, non-STD viral sore throat.  Try not to worry,.  I am confident that your HIV test at 6 weeks will be negative.  EWH

thanks for your response, you made me feel alot better as everything i read about this pheripheral neuropathy is it is a  first clinical manisfestation of hiv that is why im so worried
