But.. it is also stated in http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=80537 that for as long as its under the cephalosporins its okay.. and i forgot to place there that i was already improving on my gonorrhea.. because my symptoms were gone, my mistake was i didnt follow my course because i assumed that i was cured. my question now is do i need to go back and start the course again? or find another antibiotic?
I would trust the CDC over medicinenet. Whether or not you decide to get another antibiotic or continue with keflex, you probably do need to start treatment again.
okay...i just came from the hospital... and my results were negative... they got a sample of my PUS but the result says that NO MICROORGANISM SEEN.... now im more worried... if this is not GONORRHEA then what is this? is it possible that A VIRUS is causing the infection? or just a Plain UTI? my urinalysis was okay except for the WBC count... ranging from 45-50... so it means there's an infection but why on earth cant they find anything on my GRAM STAIN? PLS HELP!!!
If your WBC count was that high, it indicates SOMETHING. Did they do any other testing, or give you more antibiotics?
Your testing may be falsely negative because you were recently on antibiotics.
Seriously, that's a pretty high wbc count when you consider most pleaces will treat when one of those numbers reaches anywhere between 5 and 10.
You need to follow up on this. Just because your gram stain is neg doesn't mean you don't have gonorrhea. The keflex you took might be inhibiting the growth of gonorrhea enough to not test positive.
im thinking the same thing... hmm... so should i do? ask the doctor? but i did tell her that i was taking up an antibitotics... hmm... but still she pushed through the test.. but seriously if im prohibiting the growth well atleast there would be dead bacteria seen on the samples right? and its not anymore keflex im drinking its ciprofloxacin... so should i get another test? i think somethings wrong with my urinalysis because i didnt followed the clean catch method i just peed on the cup directly
I agree that since you were recently on antibiotics, your negative results might be a false negative. The best antibiotic for gonorrhea IMO is a 250mg shot of ceftriaxone. I'd wait for 2 weeks and get retested, if you test positive, get the shot.
You actually don't want to do a clean catch for stds because it can get rid of bacteria that the lab needs to see to make a diagnosis.
45-50 WBC isn't going to be a false result of anything. That's quite high.
I think that you should talk to your doc about this. There are a lot of resistant strains of gonorrhea, and cipro might not work for you. There are more resistant strains in some locations than others, and if you are a man who has sex with men, cipro should never be used for you as there are many resistant strains in that community.
My suggestions - either get a shot of ceftriaxone, or stop all the meds, and test in 2 weeks.
okay thanks.... actually im preparing already fro that kind of medication because my doctor was already explaining what medications i need... but isnt it ironic to tell the doctor that " Dr,. the antibiotic that i am taking in is making my result false negativ" the dr. might think that i assume i know everything... i cant tell her that im getting info from the internet.. but ill give it a try... thanks for ur help hehehh ill get the medications soon
just got my IM of Ceftriaxone and my doctor gave me doxycycline for the other possible STD i forgot the name.. but anywyes hope this works.. by the way how long will it take effect on the IM?
AJ question.... y is it that its only in the morning i experience 1% discharge? am i on the process of being treated? or im just being demanding that i should be cure quickly to do my own routine heheheh joke... but seriously.. how can i say that im TOTALLY TREATED?
huhuhuh.. i got it again.... gonorrhea for the second time... i just have one question..i got my IM of Ceftriaxone.. last july 7.. that ws the first day i experienced my dysuria and very mild discharge. knowing that i already experienced, i got the medication STAT and same effect. my discharge instatly disappeared but my dysuria is hell killing me. huhuhuhuh . im taking keflex and doky right now as oral meds after my IM... i dont get why my dysuria still remains knowing that i dont have any discharges.. pls explain.. should i take mefenamic acid?
well i was confident that my partner was clean... sigh... ill just finish my kelfex dosage for a week .. well i wasnt sure if it is gonorrhea but after the IM the discharges were gone just like before. my problem is the dysuria... i want it to be gone hehehehe
i didn't get any test because i assumed that it is already gonorrhea coz i had the symptoms after sexual contact.. besides the IM worked just like before but its the pain in urinating im concerned of..
1. can i use mefenamic acid to reduce the pain?
2.is it okay if i masturbate?
3. can i take Cefixime†400 mg and how many times should i take it?
UPDATE: im experiencing a yellow-reddish small amount of discharge right now but the pain is becomming less during urination.. is this a good sign or is it a more serious problem...??
Yes, you could probably use the mefenamic acid, but I am not very familiar with it, so you might want to check with your doctor.
Yes, masturbation is fine.
You can take cefixime, and you only need to take 400 mg once.
Reddish would indicate blood, and I'd wonder if you have something else going on than gonorrhea, like maybe a urinary tract infection.
Since you've taken the meds, you can't really test now and expect accurate results, but they might be able to test the discharge and get some results. That might be a good idea.
And you can never be totally sure that someone is std free (better term than "clean", as it implies someone who has an std is "dirty"). Condoms really do work.
but according to my drug handbook ceftriaxone is already good for UTI am i right? actually my mom is a doctor. hehehe but i dont want to ask her this things because she might get the wrong idea. but anyweyz thnx aj
elo.... im cured again but i have this tiny problem. im experiencing sharp pain in my left part of my mons pubis and in my left thigh.. its a really weird pain but its tolerable... what is this? i dont have any discharges and dysuria but now a pain in my mons pubis and thigh on both left side..... is this connected to my acquired infection? or a side effect of medication?
these are the pimple like structures appread after a week of gonorrhea i dont know if it is associated with the diseas or its just a common fungal infection the pics are taken from my gluteus, inguinal and lower arm
You should talk to your doc about getting one of the treatments listed here -

Good luck!!
If this is gonorrhea, you should see an improvement within a few days, if not sooner.
AJ
Feel better!
Non-std causes would be prostatitis or possibly epididymitis.
AJ
Its amazing what the right meds can do. :) Yay for you.

Its only been about 3-4 days since you've been treated, so if you aren't totally better in a few more days, call your doc.
Are you taking the doxy like you should?
AJ
Are you taking the doxy at 100 mg twice a day for 7 days? That will cure chlamydia if you have that, but you need to take it at that dose.

And are you sure this is gonorrhea? Were you tested? Keflex is not needed here - just the doxy, unless they found something else.
I hope you start using condoms. :)

ill sum up everything here..

u didnt replyed huhuhuhuhu
I don't look at pictures, because I can't diagnose. I'm not a doctor. Even a doctor can't diagnose from pictures on the internet, and shouldn't.
What you are experiencing probably isn't related, and you should follow up with your doctor promptly to find out what it is.
