red spot on husband's penis

by needshelp33, Jun 05, 2008 08:28AM
My husband has a red spot on the head of his penis.  It is flat and almost triangular shaped.  Almost looks like a blister that has popped and the skin removed.  Anyway, he went to the doctor and the doctor told him it was a yeast infection.  It does not itch, or in any way cause him pain.  Only the one spot too.  I told my husband I do NOT have any type of infection and yeast is very itchy and uncomfortable, so I do not believe he has yeast.  It was a week ago, the doc told him to get monistat and use it and for me to use it too..well he used it, I did not.  The spot is still there and no change.

We have been having sex, since the doctor told him it was harmless, and now I am worried.  Should I get tested for anything?  He is supposed to be going back to the doctor today.  He does not seem to be concerned and was irritated that I kept asking why it was not getting better.  I would think HE would be worried.

Any ideas?  Thanks for your help!

Yeast isn't always as bad as you are making it sound.

I think the question is why are you so concerned??

Well, he went back to the Doctor and he told him it may be fungus and gave a different cream.  The second cream seems to have worked.

I have an autoimmune disease and any infection I get is very difficult to take care of.  I have had yeast infections before and for me they were very bad.  I just assumed that yeast was itchy and miserable as a rule.

Also, everything I saw on the internet suggested that a single spot could be a sign of something serious, so I was worried that he would ignore it and it may be skin cancer or something that needed to be taken more seriously.

At any rate, it appears I have taken up your time with something you felt was trival to begin with.

No, that's not what I meant at all.  I just was wondering why you were so concerned.

Now that I have more background, it makes more sense.

I'm glad he got a better diagnosis.  Sometimes, even the difference between one fungal thing and another makes all the difference when treating.

Good luck.
