responding to zazi1234

by jjjggg, Jul 08, 2009 09:16PM
I had a very similar situation to zazi1234...in fact, our HSV-2 scores were the exact same. I was tested twice; the first time, I came in at 1.84. This Dr. told me that I was positive and basically would have to deal with this for my entire life. The second Dr. told me I came in at 2.07 and that this number was so low that she basically said I should continue on with my life, have safe sex and tell my OBGYN in the event that I ever have children but not worry about it otherwise. I'm at the beginning of a relationship that I'd like to make a serious committment to, and would like to have unprotected sex as well. However, I still do not understand whether I actually HAVE herpes-- I've never in my entire life had symptoms- and whether I can pass it on to someone. I understand the asymptomatic shedding, but can I be certain that I actually haev this, or should I be retested again?? Both times I was tested with the HSV 1 and 2-specific IgG/HerpesSelect. zazi1234, I'm curious to hear what you found out after reading through all the threads...I feel like I've read most of them but am still confused.

This discussion is related to hsv-2 test results interpretation.

You need to be posting herpes questions and concerns/issues in the herpes forum.  That is what they are there for.  The link is at the top of the page.
