severe outbreaks

I am now 56 yrs old and am having very severe outbreaks and wonder if a massage therapist for my arthritis can be causing these? They last for about 20 days and before the first few blisters have healed, more are breaking out. It just seems to go on and on.  I've been this way for about 18 months now. I never seem to be without blisters for more than 4-6 days.  Besides the problem of severe pain while doing anything, especially washroom visits.
Any help would be appreciated.
