single wart no sex in 7 months

I am 30 something male who has found what I think is wart on the shaft of my penis. I am confused because I have not had sex in 7 months and that was with my wife of 4 monogamous years. I am confused, everything I read says I have contracted a STD. How can that be? How do I explain that to my wife? I already know what I should do. Go see the a doctor, But first I need some advice before I go and make it official. Can there be another explanation and aat home treatment? Thanks

Only advice is to see a Dr. Bumps can be many things and often not STD related.
