skin condition

My girlfriend of several years recently requested that i shave my scrotum and genetial area.  I did.  I may just me paying closer attention to myself or something but im very scared.  I have noticed several bumps very small on the shaft and on my scrotum.  The bumps on my scrotum can only be seen when i pull the skin tight.  I am hoping that it is just hair follices, but and very very freightened.  Ive only been with 4 people im 23 years old. The bumps seem to have a white tint to them when looked at closely.  Some of them seem to have hair growing out of them, but others dont.  There seem to be more bumps than what i would think would all be hair, but im no doctor thats why im asking.  Please any information would be greatly appreciated.

It could, yes.

Why are you nervous to see the doctor?  They see this stuff all the time.

I have done lots of reading online and and just about determined that is what it is. I am pretty nervous about going to the doc with it, going to wait until hair re-grows to see if its still like that, before i consult a doc.  Could it possibly be that many bumps if its folliculitis?

It sounds like folliculitis, which is infected hair follicles.  Its VERY common to get this when you shave.

I'd get it checked to be sure, but google it and see what you think.
