slight burning sensation

by Eastguy, May 28, 2008 09:44AM
Recently I have noticed that my penis has a slight burning sensation all the time (less so when I stand).  I dont really have a burning sensation when I urinate however, however it could be that it's slightly more irritated after i go to the bathroom. Additionally, the skin on my penis is slightly red just under the head of my penis (I dont think it's a rash).  I dont have any blisters, or strange bumps, the rash-like sypmtom isnt raised, it's just red and tingles a bit.

I have only had two sexual partners in my life.  One who Ive been with for about 8 years and a one time (unprotected) encounter about a year ago when my current gf and i were on a break.  The unprotected encounter told me that she had gone for regular testing and that everything was fine.  To be cautious,  after having sex with the girl on the break I got tested after 6 weeks and the tests came back negative.  I havent had any symptoms until now.  I've always used a condom with my current gf and she says that she has only ever been with me.

I think this might be related to chaffing but the constant irritation worries me.  Moreover, I do realize that Ive been obsessing about this, checking my penis multiple times a day and that may be fueling my imagination.

A response would be appreciated.

I would talk to your doctor about prostatitis.  That can happen without having an std, and some of your symptoms are classic for it.
