std- what can it be?

Hi Doc. I am at my wits end trying to find an answer. 9 months ago i had protected sex with a my girlfriend at the time(short relationship)i started to get a strange sensation in the tip of my penis followed by 9 days after last having sex a one of the lympth nodes in the groin area swelling slightly and sore, shortly followed by a blister on underside of penis. iwent to the the Gp who diagnosed folliculitis and it was where a hair was growing( had shaved so thought this might be the cause) Since that point i have had a rash that appeared on the areas around the back of the legs and spread to my back and sides of torso. these are generally flat and red but those that were raised were full of a cheese like puss. went back to the gp(locum) but he was not iimpressed and felt i was wasting his time saying it was acne.the rash also appeard on my face generall around ears and back of neck(hot feeling in face). about 3 weeks after sex i started itching around genitals so decided to go to gum clinic(3wks and 5 months) tested for everything except herpes all neg. this put my mind at rest but did not go away and developed rash on ankles, aching left shoulder and also my eyes are suffering discharge(mainly at night) but do have a grit like feeling in corners of them during day. 9 months on the itching(prickly) comes and goes but never subsides for more than a day, The body rash is still there, along with the shoulder and eye problem. i am reluctant to return to the GP after last time but dont know what this can be. i am sure this is linked to the sexual encounter..any ideas?

And from your descrription I am equally sure that your skin rash and other symptoms are definitely NOT linked to the sexual encounter.  From your description, it sounds like your GP is right; and in any case, an on-line doc cannot generally compete with the judgment of a doc, especially a GUM expert, who has actually examined a patient.  Sorry I can't help more.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
