std from oral or anxiety?

I've been reading the forums and have seen some posts similar to my situation, but not exactly. So here is my experience. On 12/18 I ended up in a strip club getting a "private dance". During this "dance" the stripper gave me a handjob and "kissed" my penis a few times. It wasn't what I would call oral sex, but my penis did enter her mouth a few times. If I had to guess I would say it was only in her mouth for a total of 30 to 45 seconds.
It has now been 5 days and I seem to be having some symptoms of something. The next day I noticed some small red spots on the underside of the head of my penis and have seen a few more over the past few days. As of yesterday, 4 days after the encounter, my urethra looks red around the opening and I have a slight burning sensation when I urinate and the dots are still there. There is a slight burning feeling on the head of my penis also. I have also had some tightness or discomfort around my urethra behind my testiticles, near my prostate. I have had problems with my prostate in the past and it was acting up a bit before I had this encounter. That might explain the tightness I am feeling and possibly the slight burning, but not the red bumps and external burning.
From what I have read on these forums it seems like it might be a little soon to be showing any std symptoms, but if it isn't an std, what could t be? I have read a few posts saying a lot of men have anxiety that makes them feel these symptoms, but mine seem to have physical manifestations. I can se the bumps and the redness around the opening of the urethra. I do plan on getting tested, but is it too soon? It has only been 5 days, what stds will show up in a test?

I realized this morning that the irritation around the end of my penis at the opening might be due to the fact that I've been wiping it after urinating to get rid off any drops of urine around the opening. I have been having issues where after I urinate a few extra drops of urine usually leak out. This was happening before the encounter and is most likely du to my prostate issues. I could just be irritating it myself and I guess the irritation could be causing the burning.
The red dots around the head don't seem as red today. I accidentally called them bumps at one point in my last post, but they are not bumps, they are just small faint red dots around the end of my penis.
I'm still concerned. I'm not sure if I'm just explaining away the problems to make myself feel better or if I am figuring things out.
So to recap, I'm 33 and about 6 days ago I had my penis in a stripper's mouth for about 30 to 45 seconds. My symptoms are small faint red dots on the head of my penis, redness and irritation around my urethra, some pressure/tightness behind my testicles near the prostate, and a slight burning sensation. I do not have any type of discharge other than urine.
I'm really stressing and freaking out about this, please help.

Anxiety...You can test for STD's after 1 week...gonorrhea and NGU. Now given the fact that it was a very breif encounter chances are you didn't get either of those. Symptoms of gonorrhea normally show up in 2-5 days and NGU 7-14 days. Discharge/burning while urinating.
The small dots have nothing to do with this latest experience. I say it's probably anxiety because do you normally examine your self and find websites to ask for advice if you are in a long term relationship and something weird happens or when you have not had sex in months and something happens. For most people no they just dismiss it as nothing.

Dr's on this website say test if you have symptoms or to ease your mind.

Thanks.
I thought that my symptoms might have been showing up a little fast for ti to actually be anything. I have been able to explain most of the symptoms and for all I know the red dots could just be some normal skin discoloration that I have never noticed before. I guess it is most likely nothing, but on the off chance that it is, I'll probably test. It will definitely ease my mind.

It has been a week since the encounter. I figured that's enough time to stress out before getting something to show up in a test, so I went to the urgent care center. He didn't seem too concerned about the red dots or the redness around my urethra. They took urine and blood to test and gave me a shot of Rocephin and a prescription for Zithromax. I have to wait until morning to get the Zithromax. I'll get the test results in about a week. Hopefully this was all just anxiety.

I hope so too, but at least you got tested so you'll know.

Good luck,
Aj

Thanks Aj.
Last night I managed to find an all night pharmacy that was open on christmas and got the zithromax. They told me to take all 4 pills at once and I did.
Now that I've taken the pills and got the shot, if the burning I'm feeling is std related, long does it usually take for things to clear up? Will the Rocephin and Zithromax work if it is NGU or some other UTI?
Now that I've been treated, I guess all I've ot left to worry about is herpes and HIV. How likely would either of those be from my encounter and when should I get tested again?

by auntiejessi, Dec 26, 2008 10:54AM
Rocephin will cure gonorrhea, and zithromax will work on chlamydia and NGU.  It might not cure a UTI.

I see no reason to worry about HIV or herpes.

I know that you say I don't need to worry about herpes, but that seems to be my main std concern. From what I'm reading it can have a fairly quick incubation period. I'm thinking that maybe the dots I'm seeing just haven't fully formed into blisters or sores yet. Is there such a thing as a minor herpes outbreak or do they all come on full force?

I can't seem to find any info on any other std that might be causing the irritation I'm feeling.

It has been 8 days since my risky encounter. My main problem is rash around my penis near the head and an associated burning feeling. It doesn't seem to be blistering or swollen yet, just slight discoloration and some faint red dots.

I'm starting to wonder if my symptoms aren't related to something else and it's just a coincidence that it began around the same time as my encounter. Possibly some other rash or yeast infection?

Red dots aren't herpes.  Your doctor wasn't concerned about herpes, and he saw the spots.

It could be yeast or jock itch, too.

Thanks Aj.

I think the one thing that I did catch from this encounter is a bad case of paranoia.
I'll guess I'll need to go over to the urology or dermatology forums and try to get some advice for jock itch and yeast.
Thanks again.

I returned for a second visit to the doc today. My test results still aren't in. I can't believe how long this is taking. I'm still burning and still have some redness, they referred me to a urologist.

I guess my paranoia is setting in again, but you said "Red dots aren't herpes" and since from what I have read, you are very knowledgeable about herpes, I just wanted to clear a few things up.

Can herpes appear as just a rash or does it always appear with some sort of blistering sores?

I'm guess I'm just getting nervous because I don't think they are testing my blood for herpes. I'm not sure if that's something I should ask for when I get in to see the urologist.

Thanks in advance.

Its not always blisters, and can be a rash, but how long have you had the rash now?  If I'm not mistaken, its been a few weeks.  If this was herpes, it would be going away or gone by now.

Remember that you really didn't have a risk here - your penis was only in her mouth for mere seconds, if that.  I think a urologist is a good idea, and blood testing for herpes now would only show if you were previously infected.  Its still probably too early to know if you got it from this, which if you did, I'll eat my words, but I don't see how you could have.

Thanks.

It has been 2 weeks since the encounter. The rash has mostly gone away, I just have a few red dots, the redness is really only around the urethra. There is burning in my urethra, that is starting to go away too, but when it is there it is constant not just when urinating. The doctor mentioned something yesterday that it is possible that I could have ulcers or herpes inside my urethra causing the burning.
I'm calling the urologist today.

by auntiejessi, Jan 02, 2009 12:25PM
From what I understand, if you had a herpes sore inside your urethra, it would HURT.  It would be more than just burning - it would be PAIN.

Good luck with the urologist.

Thanks. I think this would be considered more of a burning. Hopefully I just don't have a high tolerance for pain or a different definition of burning.

I called the urologist that my doctor recommended, but they can't see me for about 6 weeks. I tried to sound desperate for help, but they told me the best I could do is to call every day to see if someone cancels. Needless to say, I'll be consulting with my insurance company and trying to locate a urologist that can se me sooner.
