std or ingrown hair

My boyfriend recently got a bump about 1 inch above his penis and doesn't know if it's an std or an ingrown hair.  I have never been tested but also have never had any symptoms of any kind of std.  The other one started going away and another one appeared.  The bump is raised and is a little tender and it almost looks like there's a scab at the tip.  But it doesn't look like a blister, just a pimple.  Does it sound like it could possibly be an ingrown hair?

My boyfriend has something like that too they look like pimples only hes had them since he was a kid.  Hes been tested for HPV and Herpies (herpes) but we're going to get him checked out again.  I have no idea what they are.

It could be infected hair follicles, but getting a doc to check things out is the best thing you can do.
