strange rash on penis for about 1 month

hello, i have experienced a rash on my penis i do not know the cause of this. the rash is red and is on the shaft/head of my penis it consists of dry patches that are almost circular but they have recently formed together and gotten bigger. i am very worried ive been to a doctor he thought it wus jock itch i was prescribed oxistat for twice a day 2 weeks it hasnt done anything...HELP!!!!

for about a week. i have heard that jock itch does not even effect the penis? is that true?

i am so confused/worried/scared i hope this is nothing serious
