swollen groin lymph nodes

I'm 19 years old and my girlfriend and I have just recently decided to start having unprotected sex, she's on the pill and we were both virgins when we met in high school. This all happened in one day, i noticed an ingrown hair looking thing on my penis which makes sense because i used to shave down there but later that night i noticed my lymph nodes on the left side of my groin were swollen. So i was just wondering if anybody knew what it could be from since i'm about 99% sure we don't or didn't have std's.

I've heard that you can get swollen lymph nodes from physical activities or even from stubbing your toe so maybe its just from lifting weights, but i'd like to hear an outside opinion on the matter.

you might have been a virgin before your partner, but was he?

the best thing to do is to be seen and get a proper exam done to find out what is going on.  Since it's swollen and warm to the touch, you should be seen today, not wait 2 weeks.

They can become swollen when you have a cold, fever, ect most of the time its nothing to worry about check on it in 2 weeks and see if it goes down. But if your worried go to a Doctor

Im female, and i had a swollen lymph node also on my left side.  When i went to the doctor, he told me it was because of an ingrown hair.  So it might be the same thing, however, the ingrown hair i had was right around where the lymph node would be, i dont know if it would do the same even though yours was on your penis.  The doctor told me that it was swollen from being irritated, but it was very tender too, and said that usually means it is infected   I had to be put on antibiotics to heal it.  You might want to go see a doctor to get some too if it doesn't clear up in a few days.

If there are no other symptoms then I doubt it’s a STD related. If herpes was the case of usually swollen lymph nodes are followed by herpes outbreak. So if no lesions or anything unusual form around your genitals I doubt its herpes. But if she performed oral on you and had oral outbreak in her mouth (lips) then you might have been infected with HSV1.
