syphilis question

Dear Grace,
I do not understand when you say that sometimes test stay positive. If I test many years later after an incident where I could have contracted syphilis it could come out negative. And to clarifiy first question does syphilis appear only in sexual organs, anus or mouth where there was direct contac with lesion.

Yes it would have shown up. You don't have syphilis.

I was tested for syphilis a few years back in std checkup I did and it was negative. I did not get treatment because I never got syphilis. But my question would be if by any chance I would have gotten syphilis 8-10 years ago would it show up in std check up I got about 2 years ago.
The only incident that worried me was a rash above eyebrows about 10 years ago which grace already explained this is not syphilis. I just wanted to make sure that if by any chance I got syphilis it would show up in this std check up I got 2 years ago.
Thank you for answering my questions

Dear Vance,
My question would be If I could have gotten syphilis  almost 9 year ago but was not treated would a syphilis test be positive. I have read that even if i got treatment for syphilis it would be positive for many years so I would guess if I did not get treatment it would be positive for 10 years or more.
Thank you

Syphilis canker/sore will appear where you got the infection...most common is anal area, vaginal area and penis. Mouth is possible but lower then the other areas.

The antibodies produced stay in the system a long time so you may test for years and still show positive but the tier number will decrease.
