syphilis??

Hey I am a male who recently was in recently in singapore, during my time here I had protected sex with 2 prostitutes.  I also was given oral  unprotected by one of them.  I later gt a small red mark on my penis which cleared after  few days, now a few wks later I hav a small rash on the upper side of my foot, which i think is just a sweat rash due to hevy working recently? I was just wondering what my chances were of getting syphilis from this case?

any information will be greatly appreciated.

According to the CDC, a syphilis chancre usually lasts 3-6 weeks.  If the mark healed within one day, it is probably not a syphilis chancre or a herpes lesion.

While syphilis is fairly uncommon (I'm not sure about its frequency in Singapore), getting tested would be a smart idea, especially since you noticed a "red mark" and later a rash.  Condoms greatly reduce the risk of acquirng an STD, but if you came into contact with a syphilis chancre, there is always the chance you were exposed, even if having protected sex.  Get tested to ease your mind and clear this up.  You could also get tested for other STDs, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and herpes.  The red spot could have been numerous things, including a sore due to HSV, but it's really hard to say.  Only an STD-knowledgeable provider will be able to give you an accurate diagnosis.
Good luck,
Em
