No, its not always present, and is usually on the torso or palms of your hands or soles of your feet.

It would last anywhere from about 2-6 weeks, and then would go away.  That doesn't mean syphilis is gone, though.

If you are at all concerned that you have syphilis, diagnosing it is very simple with just a blood test.  Left untreated, it can cause many problems.

i know but how about if the rash was everywhere else but the hands and palms of your feet? and does benadryl cover that symptom?

That's not typical of a syphils rash, and benedryl will only help with the itching.  It would not cure syphilis.

If you have a rash over your body, you really need to get that checked.

There are other things that cause rashes, and need to be treated as well.

yea its sweird we went to the doctor twice they said it was hives or an allergic reaction we both have them so i was thinking like scabies but it doesnt itch and my fiance has been getting rashes that look like lines on her arms stomach and thighs any ideas of what it is?

You both have them?  That's odd.  It would be unusual for you both to be allergic to the same thing, unless its something toxic like mold.

It would also be unusual for you both to have the exact same syphilis symptoms as well.

I would think, and I'm not an allergist, that an allergic reaction would itch.  I'm allergic to everything, and hives ITCH.

If you feel the need, get a syphils test just to rule it out, but I'd start looking at other things.
