testing for oral chlamydia/gonorrhea

Can the home rapid tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia, not the urine test but the tests that utilize swabs from the urethra, also detect oral presence of the bacteria through the use of throat swabs? In utilizing a swab of the urethra, epithelial cells are collected. I'm curious if epithelial cells from the back of the throat/tonsils couldn't be tested utilizing the same testing method. I've spent hours searching for answers among health sites and didn't come up with a definitive answer. Thanks in advance

it depends on the testing as to how accurate it is. if you want to home test for std's orally, give the company a call and make sure the test you bought is going to work for it.  I certainly wouldn't just swab orally and send it to them.   also make sure you are testing both orally and genitally unless it's just an encounter where you gave oral sex only.

you can go to your local health department that does std testing and get it done cheaply too :)
