tests?

by gotaquestion291, Sep 13, 2008 10:58AM
i recently have found a red mark on the head of my penis. the mark is not a blister or sore and is more of a skin irrataion look than anything. then went to one of those anonymous std websites, which looked credible, and went to a lab and got a blood and urine test preformed. everything came back negative so my question is whether blood and urine test are accurate or  should i go to a doctor and have a swab test performed. is there anything else it could be?
thank you.

This could be many things including just plain ole irritation or even a fungal infection. The best course of action is to see your provider and get this looked at.

ok thanks..is there reason to worry about an std still though? having done the blood and urine tests?

Yes.  Syphilis takes about 6 weeks to show up on a test, and herpes can take up to 4 months.   If its been less time since your last possible exposure, it could still be one of those things.
