to grace.....confused about results

i finally got my results(after asking a few times....lol) and they don't say much..
exactly as it reads on the paper:
HSV1 GLYCOPROTEIN G AB POSITIVE
IgG antibody to HSV type 1 Glycoprotein G detected
which may indicate a current or past HSV infection

HSV2 GLYCOPROTEIN G AB POSITIVE
IgG antibody to HSV type 2 Glycoprotein G detected
which may indicate a current or past HSV infection

at the bottom of the page it says AB-abnormal

what the heck does all that mean???
any help would be appreciated.

It says it was an IGG test, so I think it was one of the good ones. I took one through Kaiser and it kind of looked like that. It didn't have any numbers, just said positive.

I don't know where everybody is. I've been waiting on grace or one of the other exeperts to answer my question as well. Hopefully they come today.

well that's what i was wondering. considering my gyn didn't seem to know a whole lot about the whole thing, how do i know this isn't one of those tests that can't accurately distinguish between the two types. how do i know having HSV 1 doesn't skew the results of both? it is what it is either way, but still, would be nice to know!! still can't understand why doctors waste our time and money on tests that don't mean anything...

Doesn't it say your positive for HSV 1 and 2. Why doesn't it have numbers on it?
