hi, I am 29 years old and i had unprotected sex but am still virgin and it was my first time and after couple of months i felt something appread around the anus area then i went to the doctor and he told me they are genital warts and he prescribed me to use wartec solution (podophyllotoxin) and i used it for 3 days then the wart disappeared. but i will have to reapply the solution in 4 days time. but I am worried does this mean i will get cervical cancer????? can i do a pap smear even if i'm still a virgin??just to check what type of warts I got?please if you could help me ??I really appreciate it

The type of HPV that causes warts is not typically the type of HPV that causes cervical cancer. However, it might be wise to get the HPV vaccine as it will not help with your current infection, but it will help protect you in the future.

Yes you can get a pap smear if you are a virgin.
