why do i still have symptoms

i recently began to have syptoms of chlamydia or gonnorea about a week after a one night stand. slight itching or burning when urinating and an almost clear discharge from my penis but only if a milk it. after researching this i looked up the antibiotics for treatment and managed to get my hands on zithromax and cefspan. i took one gram on zithromax then the next day too 400mg of cefspan. the following day i took another 500mg of zithromax and the day after that i took 500mg more of the zithromax and 400mg more cefspan. it has been almost five days since i first took any medication. i still have the same symptoms with no reconizable difference.

is it possible the medication didnt work or does it take longer for the symptoms to subside and why?
if so when should they completely subside?

also if i still have symptoms, am i still contageous?

im 99% sure of the condition that i have and from what i have read, the antibiotics i took are very successful in trateating these conditions however its very stressful untill the symptoms are gone and i dont expect them to disappear right away but im mainly concerned with how long after taking the antibiotics should i wait? some info on the web says it may take one to 2 weeks but as i said it is stressful and i learned my lesson and just want this to be cured

hello hellow!

With no medical degree I give my brief answers to your questions.

With no knowledge about the medication you mention I believe that it is possible that sometimes it may happen that the treatment does not kill the bacteria, therefore - especially when it comes to chlamydia, it is useful to re-test and get a negative result prior to proceeding unprotected sex with anyone (to avoid passing the disease forward and then getting it again from your partner).

An expert is needed for the second question, but for the third one, my opinion is that it is likely that your are still contagious if the symptoms are present. Like I mentioned, it's better to have a negative test result first, only then it is guaranteed that you are not contagious anymore. And remember, that there's always the chance that some other disease causes your symptoms if they refuse to go away.

Have you consulted an expert or got in touch with your partner to confirm what you might have?
