worried pls help doc

i had protected sex with a female pro before 4 days. The condom didnt break every factor was considered and i am not worried about them at all. this is my main worry. I am a soccer player and 2 days before the incident i had this skin tear due to friction between my underwear and my legs while playing football. the location is at the inside of the leg joints (both sides). i had stung feelings while pouring water on the area. i had shaved my pubic region too before 1 day. my question is can the virus present in vaginal fluids pass through this broken skin into me>> wats is the possibility since the location does not come into direct contact with the vagina but i am scared whether i would i ve brushed the area against the vagina while having sex... i m too worried doc.. do i ve to go for the test... pls reply.. the vaginal sex lasted for aroung 2 mins.. does a gal secrete a lot of vaginal fluids while sex making it possible to reach the region that i juz explained?? pls reply

Your risk from that exposure was virtually zero, even if you partner has HIV--which she probably wasn't.  (The large majority of commercial sex workerrs in the US and other western countries are not infected with HIV.)  Don't lose any sleep over this.  The abrasion, shaving burn, etc make no difference.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

The risk for any STD with any single episode of vaginal intercourse is pretty low, even without condom protection; and with a condom you really don't have much to worry about.

HPV might theoretically be the biggest risk, but if your pre-marriage sexual lifestyle (and your wife's) were average (that is, you each had at least a small number of previous partners), then you can be pretty sure one or both of you already has HPV anyway.  Thus, if HPV were to show up someday in one of you, there would be no way to know, and no reason for her to suspect, that you had other partners since you were married.

That leaves herpes, with is a) very unlikely and b) likely to cause symptoms if you caught it.  Although herpes can be entirely asymptomatic, most cases in fact cause at least minor sores; and people who are on the lookout for them will notice them if they occur.  So if you don't develop anything like that within ~10 days of the exposure, you can forget herpes as well.

And with an intact condom, there is basically no risk of chlamydia, gonorrhea, or HIV.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
