yeast infection or herpes?

Ok, I recently started my period and about 3 days into it, I began to itch very badly.  Now about 2 or 3 days before I started I had used a ****** for the first time. Me and my husband had also used a condom for the first time in almost 10 years (just for fun).  So I'm not sure if it is an allergic reaction or something more serious because I now I have become very sore during intercourse.  After that, it burned a little on the outside of my vagaina but has only burned that one time.  There has been a little discharge that looks kind of cottage-cheesy but with no odor.  It doesn't itch as bad anymore, only maybe like two or 3 times a day.  But now I have noticed small pimple-looking bumps.  The look just like a white head.  They don't hurt or itch, but puss does come out when I pop them.  I get them sometimes after shaving if the razor is dull but never this many.  I was going to get the treatment for a yeast infection.  If that works, does that mean that it was not herpes?

I'm not sure why you would believe it's herpes in the first place?  Do you know your husband to be positive?  Or yourself?  Just from the description it sounds like a yeast infection to me.

Neither one of us has been tested since before we were married and that was about 5 years ago.  But neither one of us had it.  I've just never had a yeast infection before and when I was searching online, both herpes and a yeast infection had pretty close symptoms.
