2 years today

hello,

today marks the 2nd year since my illness changed my life.  i can't believe it.

i am still recovering from surgery and things are going relatively well.  i still have many of the same symptoms i had beforehand, and although i know it takes time for nerves to heal and things to settle down, i know in my heart and in my gut that a lot of what is going on isn't related to my cervical spine issues.  as a result, i have finally decided to go see a lyme literate practitioner and get proper testing since every other avenue has led me to a brick wall.  i hope to have an appointment set up for the end of februrary.  it is incredibly expensive, but at this point, i have nothing else to lose.

i hope everyone is doing well and enjoying 2011 so far.

blessings to you all,
binx

dear faithHGL,

thank you so much for the good thoughts and prayers.  two years certainly feels like forever at this point, but i know there are many others who have been struggling much longer.

i've been thinking about you, too, hoping that things are going well with your job.  it sounds very exciting and i wish you the absolute best on this new journey.

best wishes,
binx

hi there, wonko,

good to see you pop in and thanks for the well wishes for my recovery.  i'm just over 5 weeks post-op now and feeling a bit less fragile every day.  thank heavens.

i have been a persistent lurker on the lyme board, scanning for folks whose experience is similar to mine.  there are quite a few.  i know i communicated with you re: your experience and igenex testing quite a while ago, but i have been led on such a crazy trip during the past year by some of my docs, i got a bit waylaid.  but here i am, having come full circle, with an appointment with one of the best LLMDs on the west coast scheduled for 3/24.  i was told it will likely be sooner since they have lots of cancellations.

i have been in touch with the lyme board regular you mention and i won't feel shy about posting there in the future.  thank you for making me feel welcome to do so.

i hope this finds everything going well on your end and that your symptoms are under control.

best wishes,
binx

Hey bind,

Things have been pretty quiet on the Lyme forum, but you're always welcome over there, dx or not.  One of the regulars is from your neck of the woods, I think.

I ended up at an LLMD as an end of the road venture myself, and as I've expressed before it saved my quality of life.  I know I was lucky.

Sending well wishes for your recovery from surgery!

Hi there
I agree with you, it won't hurt to try another avenue and get tested for Lyme. I'm sorry to hear that you are still having the same issues since your op, but as you say the healing process is a slow one.
Lets hope 2011 is your year and you get the answers and cure that you need.
Hugs
Suz
