Confused

This is the very first group I have ever joined, so please bear with me if it seems like I don't know what I am doing. About a year ago I started having pain in my arms, could not even lift them, then pain began to move to different parts of my body, hands and wrists, shoulders, neck, chest, back, knees, went GP she ran complete blood workup, my ana came back 1:160 homogeneous creatinine 0.6 MCH 32.9 GP sent me to rheumatoid doc.
At consult he said fibromyalgia, ran no blood workup or anything else, gave me sleeping and muscle relax pills,
So went back to GP and she ordered a lupus anticoagulant panel, came back neg. with just drvvt low at 26.9. All I know is that the pain is everyday, can start out great but by end of day am hurting bad, my hands swell but no heat or redness and now a nodule in palm, wrists and hands hurt all the time, somedays I can't even open the door,
or brush my hair, no fevers, no rash, just pain, and if I lay down or sit for a time can hardly move when I get up, this is by 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I do not know what to do next, I have no insurance, so this is killing my pocket book. It is affecting everything in my life, and I go in and out of depression. Maybe someone out there has been thur this and can give me some advice of what to do, I am so glad I found this group, someone to talk to about this.
Thank you

Hello jibjen,

Thank you for the welcome, I don't feel so alone in my struggle now, I am taking tramadol 3 times a day with an arthritis pain reliever, it helps some what.

Right now I am at a loss of what to do next, out of money and no insurance, so I will have to wait until I gather enough money to go back to doc.

Have had no other test besides blood workup, are there other test that can be done to
figure out what I have?
Sorry for you situation also, at least we can try and encourage one another to stay directed, I know some days I can't even deal with small things because of the pain, I know you understand.

Thanks,

Dragonfly

Hello silkcut and thank you for the welcome,

Only ran test to see if I had rheumatoid arthritis, which came back neg. I am taking
tramadol for the pain and an arthritis pain reliever, which works some days but not when
pain is severe.

After last test cost me $855.00 I am out of money for any further testing right now,
so have to live with it.

Right now just trying to keep my job, somedays it is all I can do.
You are so right about no support from the medical, and I do get angry because I can't
find out what is wrong so I can feel better, but it does feel better to talk about it with someone.
Thanks,

dragonfly

Hello dragonfly and welcome!

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. As Jibjen says, so many of us are in your boat, trying to paddle our way back to health without much medical support.

Has your GP talked about arthritic/rheumatic conditions? Have you taken any NSAIDs like ibuprofen or diclofenac to see how they'd affect the sx?

Anyone else any ideas?
