Eye Problems

Yestrerday and today I've had weird issues with my eyes.

It was as if there were flashes of white lights out of the corner of my right eye (it only occurs in my right eye)
they lasted about 15 or 20 minutes but I was a bit worried.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
It's probably nothing but it did scare me a bit.

Thanks

to all:  Eye problems are interesting.  I have also had weird light flashing with my eyes.  It used to scare the crap out of me but now I am used to them and just wait for them to pass.  They always do. To me it looks like zig zag colored lights....no pain....can't see clearly....and passes in about 20 mins.  My eye Dr. calls them occular migraine and says they are harmless.

Floaters are another thing.  They can persist for awhile and can be very annoying.  I had a vitrectomy in my right eye about eight years ago....long before the start of my neuro issues.  They tell me that the eye gel (vitreous) can thicken and stick to the macula and then pull a hole.  That's what happened to me.  Had the surgery to close the hole which was successful but my vision in that eye is not good.  Now since all the neuro nonsense I have developed a cataract in my "good eye".  I don't want another surgery and my Dr. says it is not ready anyway.

So, one day at a time.  That's all we really have.

Hang in there people!

Hi

I do get headaches but bizzarely if my eye is playing up then the headache will be on the other side of my head!

They are more like flashes as if someone is holding up a crystal to the side of my head and it is spinning around and catching the light, very odd.

Sometimes I get floaters too, have also experienced double vision and blurred vision.
When I had my last eye exam I mentioned the double vision and blurring to my optimologist and she asked what meds I was on, after consulting her drug book she said that these were common side-effects to both the Ami and Gabapentin that I take, she wrote to advice my GP but that's it.

I haven't got a neuro, my GP has referred me so I live in hope that I'll get an appointment at some stage (this year would be great LOL) and then I'll take my list of odd symptoms and see what they make of it.

If I ever get any info I'll let you know x

Yes!  I get these all the time!!!  Everyday, not constant, but several times a day.  It mostly happens when I move my eyes around.

No idea what causes it, just wanted to let you know that I experience this too.  I did ask my neuro, but he didn't seem too concerned.  He just looked in my eyes with his lighted tool thingy and didn't say anything after that.

Let me know if you figure it out ;o)
